About Paul Ragan
After leaving school at a young age with little qualifications, Paul set up his own cold start Insurance Brokerage in Cardiff aged 23 years in the early 90’s. Many challenges followed while expanding his company “Motaquote” into a multi-million pound business, which he later sold as the country’s leading independent insurance broker to become one of Wales’ youngest multi-millionaires.
Paul remains to this day a dedicated entrepreneur and has massed a wealth of experience at a young age which has seen him open a number of cold start businesses, successfully complete over 18 acquisitions, lead an aggressive management buy out, complete numerous rounds of fundraising and successfully complete a number of trade sales.
Today, Paul spends his time engaged in many media and public speaking events sharing his experiences in business growth, in addition to managing his own investment fund, in which he has already made numerous equity investments. Paul’s appetite to help budding entrepreneurs succeed has led him to mentoring many companies, whether it be in the form of a single one off meet with the board or on a more formal basis through his business “Collateral Thinking” of which he is a founder member.
